How to Create a Vision Board: The Power of Visualization:

February 4, 2020 by Liz SanFilippo Hall

Vision board

I cracked open another moving box. As with the other ones, it was jam packed with office odds and ends. I took out a few folders and found a place for them within my desk. A couple books went up on a shelf. And then a poster board. Although it was clearly worn and creased, I opened it up carefully. My vision board. A Vision Board: Visualizing What You Want in Your Life  I had made … [Read more...]

Five Meditation Ideas for Moms

December 24, 2019 by Liz SanFilippo Hall

meditation ideas

I tried countless times to do meditation. I tried Oprah's meditations, but clocking in at 20 minutes or so, if I did it during the day, I was inevitably interrupted by one of the kids. At night, I’d fall asleep. So what about before the kids woke up? Ha! With my youngest regularly waking at 6am, if not earlier, that wasn’t about to happen. (Affiliate links included). But with the … [Read more...]

I typically asked for things I tended to need, like clothes, socks, underwear -- and last year even curtains -- rather than things I wanted. If you’re looking for something a bit more, shall we say, creative and thoughtful when … [Read more...]

5 Ways to Boost Your Self Confidence

March 20, 2019 by Liz SanFilippo Hall

Self confidence

I’ve always been an introvert, more comfortable with my books and behind a computer than I am making small talk. Growing up, I remember walking to middle school with one of the more popular girls. She chatted a mile a minute, and I’d try to come up with something to say, practice it in my head… but by the time I had what I wanted to say just right, the moment would, of course, be gone. Affiliate … [Read more...]

Why Self Care Is Important; How to Make Yourself a Priority Even When You’re Busy

January 21, 2019 by Liz SanFilippo Hall

Self care

“You need to take care of yourself, too.” When I heard those words -- when my oldest was just four months old -- I felt myself rebel against them. My priority is my daughter and taking care of her, I had thought; her needs come before mine, and in many ways, nearly five years later, that’s still true. But I’ve come to learn something important: I’m the best mom and wife and sister and … [Read more...]
