July 9, 2026 by Liz SanFilippo Hall

Interview with Author Lisa Maggiore

Author Lisa Maggiore always knew she wanted to write, but growing up, she never encountered authors and struggled to see it as a realistic path, especially after giving birth to her oldest daughter and being a single parent at age 20. Still, she never fully let go of her writing dream. While building a 20-year career in social work, she continued to tinker with ideas and stories, keeping that … [Read more...]

Oops, Daisies, and Dreams: Interview with Author J.P. Lee

February 19, 2026 by Liz SanFilippo Hall

J.P. Lee isn’t shy about sharing her journey to publication. With her debut novel set for release in the spring of 2026, she has opened the curtains to her writing process and sneak peeks about her YA Fantasy, Shift, over on her Instagram. Our local writing group hosts more than just educational monthly meetings; the group features a number of “paths,” based around interests. From a critiquing group to a tech path (which Jenn leads), there are an incredible amount of ways to … [Read more...]

October 24, 2025 by Liz SanFilippo Hall

When I originally launched this blog in 2015, I intended to cultivate a place where I could write about parenting and all the oops and daisies that come with raising kids. I wanted it to be a space to talk about the challenges while also celebrating the joys, with other moms like me.  But over the years, I realized that as, what some might call, a ‘mommy blogger,’ I walked a fine … [Read more...]

5 Benefits of Journaling Despite the Busyness of Life

October 16, 2025 by Liz SanFilippo Hall

A few decades later, I easily fill three to five-ish pages every day, even though I only spend about 15 minutes a day journaling. It’s a practice that has gotten me through life in more ways than one.  When I don’t know what to think about a situation? I … [Read more...]
