Responsible Parenting & Mommy Blogging: My Commitment to Safety, Privacy, and Consent

October 24, 2025 by lizsfhall@gmail.com Leave a Comment

When I originally launched this blog in 2015, I intended to cultivate a place where I could write about parenting and all the oops and daisies that come with raising kids. I wanted it to be a space to talk about the challenges while also celebrating the joys, with other moms like me.  But over the years, I realized that as, what some might call, a ‘mommy blogger,’ I walked a fine … [Read more...]

Work From Home Parents Share Tips On Juggling Work with Young Kids at Home

April 8, 2020 by lizsfhall@gmail.com

work from home

Let's be honest. In both office and work from home settings, there are distractions. But the distractions are different. Instead of a coworker popping into your cubicle to catch up, now you have a young kid tugging at your shirt asking for a snack for the millionth time since they woke up. Or saying they're bored and want something to do. Working from home with kids? It can be hard, especially … [Read more...]

A Day in the Life of a Work-at-Home Mom

June 19, 2019 by lizsfhall@gmail.com

work-from-home mom

I’ve been a full-time work-at-home mom since I had my son in January 2017. Since then I’m often asked, “how do you do it all?!” I don’t really understand the question, honestly. I’m no different than any other mom trying to juggle multiple hats. Even so, I thought I’d share a sneak peek into my work-at-home mom (WAHM) routine and life. Because routine? I thrive on it! When we … [Read more...]

Working at Home with Kids: 3 Reasons I Don’t Clean During Naptime

February 7, 2019 by lizsfhall@gmail.com

3 reasons I don't clean during naptime

By the end of the day, it appears like a toy bomb has gone off. Toy cars are stashed under chairs. Stickers somehow end up on the trash can and fridge, and why are they on the floor? Baskets lay empty, because… well, kids. Despite this mess? I don’t clean up during naptime. Naptime (and now quiet time for my oldest, currently 4) is sacred to me. And not just because, as a work-at-home mom … [Read more...]

Work From Home Mom Challenges, But 5 Reasons It’s Worth Every Second

September 29, 2018 by lizsfhall@gmail.com

Working from home isn’t at all what I expected it to be. Before I had my first, I thought, naively, oh, since I’ll be home, I’ll have SO much time to get things done! My daughter will sleep or play, while I do work, and the house will always be clean. HA! That was definitely a ‘pre-kid’ mindset. I had no conception of how life (and work) would change so drastically once our family grew. And if … [Read more...]

How have your other interests informed your own wr How have your other interests informed your own writing and creative pursuits? One of the reasons I think I’ve always loved writing is that it allows me to immerse myself in other worlds and characters. As a kid, I also loved to perform… despite the fact that I’m an introvert most days. After performing with a local theater company for a few years, I decided I wanted to try my hand at putting on my own theatrical productions. Some of my more “notable” attempts:1. In 5th grade, my friends and I got together and decided to stage a League of their Own, enlisting my younger sister and her friends as the background players (aka the rest of the team other than Dottie and Kit). This wasn’t my only foray into “scriptwriting” (aka adaptions) and production.2. In high school, a friend and I worked on staging a version of our favorite movie, Labyrinth, which was halted, as you may guess, by the fact that it was copyrighted and we couldn’t get permission to publicly perform it. But still, both were fun experiences, and it taught me a whole lot about the coordination involved in staging plays!#LizsWritingJourney #ChildhoodDream #PlayProduction #Theater #ChildhoodMovies #90sKids #PlayAdaptions
