7 Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for the Busy Moms in Your Life

February 1, 2018 by lizsfhall@gmail.com

I’ll admit it. I like Valentine’s Day. I love that it’s a day dedicated to letting loved ones know that we love them, and why. I’ll also be the first to admit that one of the top things on my list for what I’d like as a gift would be to sleep in. But considering it’s a Wednesday this year and I’ll be at home alone with the kids most of the day (other than little miss’s preschool party), I’m not counting on it…. At least not til the weekend. Ha!

So what would a busy mama like this year and any year? If you’re still looking for a few Valentine’s Day gift ideas, here are a few: from the practical to the pampering!
(Affiliate links included).

1.Letter.. Or a Sticky Note!
As I mentioned, I love that this holiday is about telling others how we feel about them. It doesn’t need to be a long letter either. Heck even a few sticky notes around your home can be a great way to tell your loved one just how much they mean to you, and why.

2. A Clean House
This one won’t cost you a thing except your time… unless you don’t want to do it yourself! But giving the gift of a clean house is something anyone will appreciate.

3. Kitchen Gadgets
I might not be the best of cooks, and my husband might do most of the cooking, but I’m all about having gadgets in the kitchen that will make whipping up a dish for the kids and the family easier and more efficient … like an Instant Pot is still on my wish list. Hint hint, hun, if you’re reading this! 😉

4. Anything with caffeine
I start every morning with a cup of coffee or Nespresso, and I know I’m not the only one. Pick out a fun new flavor to keep your busy mama or wife caffeinated and moving throughout the day.

5. Me time
One of the hardest things for us busy mamas to ask for on Valentine’s Day is time for ourselves. But me time is soooo necessary to recharge our batteries and be the best mom — and version of ourselves — that we can be. So give the gift of time, and maybe a gift card to a movie, or restaurant, or Starbucks while you’re at it, before nudging us out the door.

6. A spa experience
One of the best kinds of “me time”? Time at the spa of course! Book a massage or mani/pedi appointment, or grab a gift certificate for us to use on ourselves. I promise we’ll return home in a wonderful mood too!

7. Pampering at home
The pampering doesn’t need to end with the spa too. One of my favorite treats for myself is my skincare, especially my exfoliating mask. It only takes a few minutes, and it leaves me, and my skin, feeling so refreshed. Add in some makeup too, and these are the gifts that keep on giving.

Oh, and not that it needs to be said, but we’d love some chocolate and flowers too.

Busy mamas, what would you like for Valentine’s Day?

How have your other interests informed your own wr How have your other interests informed your own writing and creative pursuits? One of the reasons I think I’ve always loved writing is that it allows me to immerse myself in other worlds and characters. As a kid, I also loved to perform… despite the fact that I’m an introvert most days. After performing with a local theater company for a few years, I decided I wanted to try my hand at putting on my own theatrical productions. Some of my more “notable” attempts:1. In 5th grade, my friends and I got together and decided to stage a League of their Own, enlisting my younger sister and her friends as the background players (aka the rest of the team other than Dottie and Kit). This wasn’t my only foray into “scriptwriting” (aka adaptions) and production.2. In high school, a friend and I worked on staging a version of our favorite movie, Labyrinth, which was halted, as you may guess, by the fact that it was copyrighted and we couldn’t get permission to publicly perform it. But still, both were fun experiences, and it taught me a whole lot about the coordination involved in staging plays!#LizsWritingJourney #ChildhoodDream #PlayProduction #Theater #ChildhoodMovies #90sKids #PlayAdaptions
