When the kitchen is overflowing with dishes, the toys are everywhere except put away, and the calendar is jam-packed with work, school, and extracurricular activities, it can be hard to imagine doing anything other than ‘surviving.’
But there are moms who have carved out a creative space for themselves in this world.
Maybe they’ve incorporated their creativity into their own entrepreneurial pursuits. Maybe they dive into their stories when everyone else is fast asleep. Or maybe they work on their art in the nooks and crannies of everyday life. No matter what, I want to know them and learn how they’ve pursued their creative goals and dreams.
Because we aren’t in competition. Rather, we’re women who dream of something more—and the time and space to create—and we can lift each other up through our personal journeys and stories.
Rather than ask: how in the world did she do this?
I want to know: what can I learn from her journey and experiences?
How do other moms juggle so many different things and chase after their creative ambitions and dreams?
Let me tell you right now: it’s rarely a linear path. Everyone has hiccups, self-doubts, and/or challenges (or oops) in their creative journey, and we’ll explore those, too, because, hey, that’s life.
In my new interview series, “Oops, Daisies, & Dreams,” hear the stories of other moms who have pursued a variety of creative endeavors. Discover the oops they made along the way—the messy, imperfect reality of motherhood and creativity; the daisies—the growth, beauty, and resilience of these moms; and their dreams, what creative ambitions and stories these moms are chasing.
By sharing the stories of other creative moms, I hope to foster a space where moms can embrace their creativity, learn how to carve out time for their own creative dreams, and share their stories and voices with confidence, knowing their stories matter.
