Do I regret taking so long to “realize” my dreams Do I regret taking so long to “realize” my dreams of publishing? Maybe a little. But I learned so much along the way. In the final part of my Substack series, “What It Feels Like to Publish a Book 20 Years in the Making,” I reflect on what stood in my way, and why my eight-year-old self would be so proud of me today.Full article linked in my bio/story. #WritingJourney #PathToPublication #BecomingCharlotteCorday #Mindset
October was another month of trying new things, pl October was another month of trying new things, playing with words, and learning how I can dance with my “creativity” in my work. It was also the month that I brought something new into the world… Open Window Lit.The free creative community for women is still taking shape, but considering I’m all about showing how messy the creative process is (while still being fun!), I want people to come along on the ride with me as I figure out how to best support this growing community of women who want to reclaim their creativity and dream big.A lot of what I’m offering right now is free… free co-writing and accountability spaces. Free workshops. Free virtual spaces to connect with other writers. (If you’re not in my Thursday morning co-writing club, come join us! We always end up laughing about something). But I dream of paying contributors one day, for anthologies, for a possible magazine, for other story collections/book ideas… and to do that, I’m applying to grants and creating low-cost resources, like digital downloads and eBooks. In the meantime, are you ready to dance with your creativity too? I’d love for you to join us!#WritingLife #Creativity #writingcommunity #LetsCreate
Our country and our systems won’t change unless we Our country and our systems won’t change unless we speak up… and unless we vote. There’s a lesson to be learned from the French and their protests. No, I don’t condone violence, rioting, and looting, but I firmly believe that when you speak out against injustice and use your VOICE, change can happen, not just in politics. So Americans, please go vote on Election Day. ***For those who don’t know me, hey, I’m Liz SanFilippo Hall, and my debut novel, Becoming Charlotte Corday, dives deep into France’s history with revolutions, rioting, and protests. These issues are extremely complex but I try my best to simplify what’s going on and what we can learn from our past with videos/messages like these.#FrenchRiots #GoVote #HistoryLessons #AmResearching
