Daisy Jones and the Six made me feel the way great Daisy Jones and the Six made me feel the way great music makes me feel. The storytelling is simple, in a transcript style (that took a little getting used to), but full of deep feelings about love, addiction, family, creative collaborations, and the complications that come with having all the things you think you want. If you love reading about complex relationships and music, this one is for you too. “She had written something that felt like I could have written it, except I knew I couldn’t have. I wouldn’t have come up with something like that. Which is what we all want from art, isn’t it? When someone pins down something that feels like it lives inside us? Takes a piece of your heart out and shows it to you? It’s like they are introducing you to a part of yourself. And that’s what Daisy did, with that song. At least for me.”Thanks for the rec, @creeping_between_the_margins! #BookRec #MusicBooks #AuthorsOfIG @tjenkinsreid

When the words don’t come out the way I want or need them to? When the ideas disappear? That’s why I’m such a big proponent of creating a writing routine, one that works for my busy life… and helps me when the words just don’t flow.Ready to make a writing routine that works for you? Come join my May 20th workshop! The event will be recorded for those who can’t make it live.Hope to see you then! Bear with me! I do plan to talk about my forthcomi Bear with me! I do plan to talk about my forthcoming YA historical fantasy, but putting something out into the world that’s only been “mine” so far? It’s hard! This is why I talk about mindset and writing so much — your mindset affects your writing… and apparently your publicity and marketing, too. #WritingLife #HistoricalFantasy #BookLife #Mindset
